Medicinal Chemist

CoMentis is engaged in the discovery and development of innovative small-molecule drugs to treat neurodegenerative and neurovascular diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, AMD and cognitive disorders. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our medicinal chemistry department.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will effectively design, synthesize and characterize novel small molecules for lead discovery and lead optimization; assist in building the medicinal chemistry department infrastructure.
Skills and Capabilities:
Broad knowledge and practical expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, including planning and executing synthetics routes, product isolation, purification and characterization. Excellent Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and with a team Strong initiative with good planning and organizational skills, flexibility, good judgment, problem solving abilities and relevant work experience in a multidisciplinary research/medical team setting.
Requirements:
PhD in organic chemistry with 0-3 years of industrial experience preferred or BS/MS in organic chemistry with 5-10 years of industrial experience.
