As we move into our next phase of growth, we’re looking for a Head of Engineering to help shape how we build - enabling our already brilliant team and preserving our core values as we scale.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Head of Engineering who brings deep experience in leading exceptional people and who has a strong belief in engineering as a team effort - someone who leads by enabling others, not by being the centre of every decision. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the operating model and playbook for growth, whilst acting as a guardian of culture. You’ll help Duna preserve what makes it special as it grows: clear communication, deep focus, and intellectual integrity. You’ll optimise for sustainable growth, not speed for speed’s sake.
What You’ll Do
- Enable, don’t command – Support teams with the structure and space to thrive, not control
- Guide culture – Foster a transparent, reflective, and low-ego environment
- Coach and mentor – Invest in people, provide clarity, and support growth
- Soundboard & advise – Be technically credible without centralising decisions
- Navigate calmly – Support the team through challenges, without firefighting
Who You Are

- Low ego, team-first, and outcome-driven
- Experienced enough to understand the need for reflection – to guide direction and drive progress
- Technically fluent and a strong sparring partner - able to challenge and support, without needing to have the final say

- Strong coaching instincts and team development experience
- Exceptional communication & ‘culture add’ > ’culture fit’ mentality
- Proven ability to scale systems and teams intentionally - particularly across remote-first environments
- Ambition, urgency, and a high bar for quality
