The role

We are looking for a Principal Test Engineer to work on our recently created area of engineering foundation, where it will be responsible for helping define the testing strategy that works at Farfetch’s scale.

The person in this position will work closely with other software engineers, test engineers, and management, where it will be, coaching, mentoring, and help identify improvements on the testing strategy.

Ultimately, it will be influencing how software is built and deployed by more than 700 engineers.

What you'll do

  • Engage with other areas of the company to influence the way we build software;
  • Be a role model in engineering best practices and agile testing;
  • Helping teams on finding the best strategy to deploy their code safely in production;
  • Advocate for quality within cross-functional development teams;
  • Evangelize quality throughout the development cycle
  • Coaching other test engineers on testing best practices.

Who you are

  • A professional with at least 10 years of demonstrated experience in the IT engineering field;
  • Comfortable using scripting languages such as Bash, Python and Groovy, and tools such as Jenkins, Git, SonarQube;
  • An excellent communicator in English, with the capability to communicate at multiple levels in the organization;
  • A Technical Reference and Evangelist for the rest of the organization on topics related to continuous delivery, continuous integration, and engineering best practices;
  • Team player with the ability to help others;
  • Good understanding of automation in a microservices architecture;
  • We also value experience with Mobile Testing and with E-Commerce
