We’re looking for a Lead of Regulatory Compliance to join the Compliance team at Revolut New Zealand. The Lead is responsible for advising, monitoring, and overseeing the compliance position of the entity.

This role is to lead the regulatory compliance pillar of Revolut NZ and reports directly to our Regional Head of Compliance.

This position is critical to support the buildout of Revolut New Zealand and will be the future focal point for all activity on Regulatory Compliance. We are looking for someone with extensive experience in the New Zealand financial industry and proven experience in leading a compliance team and in dealing with regulators, who's excited to design, lead, and shape the future of oversight and compliance.

What you’ll be doing

  • Liaising point of contact for all regulators (e.g. FMA, Commerce Commission, RBNZ)
  • Identifying and overseeing regulatory compliance, and conduct risks, designing and implementing appropriate controls to mitigate these risks for the entity
  • Surveying and interpreting the entity's regulatory, and broader risk landscape
  • Being the escalatory point for regulatory issues and requests and the key owner of the entity's approach to upcoming new regulations
  • Leading any licence applications in respect of new products or services
  • Establishing and executing a best-in-class compliance framework, and where required, monitoring, and training programme
  • Overseeing the 1LoDs management of compliance and conduct, risk and control management framework

What you'll need

  • 10+ years of regulatory compliance experience
  • Experience of C-Suite and Board-level engagement on compliance topics
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of identifying compliance risks and potential vulnerabilities, advising on best practices to effectively and efficiently address those findings
  • A proven track record in owning regulatory relationships (or experience working for regulators.)
  • Knowledge of how to conduct regulatory gap analysis, policy creation, and implementation
  • The desire and drive to learn, grow, and create an impact quickly as part of an expanding entity
  • Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on execution
