About the team:

As a Crypto Compliance Surveillance Associate, you will work with a team responsible for designing and implementing surveillance processes and controls. This includes monitoring exception reports to identify market manipulation and suspicious activity as well as drafting responses to regulatory inquiries. This person will collaborate with cross-functional teams that support, manage, and grow the Robinhood Crypto business and engage with stakeholders across the Robinhood enterprise.

What you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Manage a surveillance program to detect and prevent market misconduct
  • Oversee the review of employee trading activities
  • Perform trade surveillance reports, investigate anomalies and make determinations
  • Provide order and trade data to regulators upon request
  • Develop and implement appropriate policies and procedures to ensure Robinhood Crypto is able to comply with applicable law, rule or regulation
  • Provide real-time tactical and strategic advice to the Operations team on compliance-related matters

About you:

  • 2+ years working in compliance, financial services operations or a relevant function
  • Strong understanding of market surveillance practices
  • Experience in reviewing trading activity both manually and with vendor support for potentially questionable activity
  • Strong knowledge of blockchain analytics tools
  • Experience in executing employee activity pre-clearance and disclosure compliance program
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Familiarity with cryptocurrency markets and blockchain technology
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and coordinate across multiple functional groups
  • Resourceful and adaptive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments

Bonus points:

  • Experience managing projects interfacing with technical and non-technical teams
  • Demonstrated ability to scale operations and processes in a fast-paced organization
  • Experience in presenting and explaining data to a regulator
  • Programming or data science experience
