The Global Logistics Planner owns all component planning and procurement activities worldwide for components used in reverse logistics operations. The Planner executes and manages purchase orders, performs clear to build analyses, leads last time buys, and manages component logistics strategy and execution to ensure component supply meets logistics center demand for b-stock screening, refurbishment and repair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure component supply meets in-region reverse logistics demand
  • Lead material procurement readiness for NPIs
  • Partner with Technical Reverse Logistics Program Manager to establish repair bills of material (RBOM) and exchange rates for NPIs to drive rLSP readiness
  • Partner with GSMs, PD and rLSPs to identify in-region sourcing opportunities to drive down total cost while ensuring quality and continuity of supply
  • Lead cost reduction efforts in areas of second sourcing, transportation management, warehousing/holding cost optimization and component procurement strategy
  • Lead last time buy analyses and consolidate global demand for components used in the reverse logistics supply chain to ensure material availability through program lifecycle
  • Maintain material costs in ERP system and rBOMs in PLM system
  • Provide clear and consistent visibility to component procurement delivery status to Reverse Logistics Managers, rLSPs and coordinate inbound logistics optimization with Sonos freight forwarders/carriers
  • Support Reverse Logistics Managers in conducting component E&O reviews at rLSPs to drive down excess storage costs and ensure optimal component allocation between sites
  • Maintain component lead times, MOQs, MPQs and economic order quantities and partner with rLSPs on clear-to-build processes and improvements
  • Serve as the main point of contact for Reverse Logistics Managers on any material procurement need and optimization opportunities regarding materials planning and procurement
  • Support in ad hoc analyses for Global Logistics operations

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.A./B.S.required
  • Strong excel and quantitative skills
  • 2+ years of experience in material planning/procurement, logistics or supply chain role
  • Fluent English communication skills


  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics
  • Vendor management and contract negotiation experience
  • Reverse logistics experience
  • SAP experience
  • Arena or equivalent PLM system experience
