Your challenge:
Reporting to the Director of Product Engineering and part of the tech management team, this role requires an exceptional individual who can inspire, lead, and be a collaborative sparring partner to Product and help us shape the technology and architecture of our Activation and user management experience and platform..
The User Management and Activation team at Taxfix is dedicated to creating a seamless and efficient user onboarding experience, ensuring easy user creation and management, and robust authentication processes. Our goal is to provide users with a smooth and secure initial experience with our product, setting the foundation for a positive and lasting relationship. As the Engineering Manager for the User Management and Activation team, you will play a crucial role in leading the development of our team and enhancing our user activation and management platform.
Your responsibilities and decisions:
- Leadership and Management: Lead a team of talented full stack engineers, fostering a collaborative, transparent, and inclusive work environment. Provide mentorship and guidance to support their professional growth and success.
- Technical Strategy: Work closely with cross-functional business colleagues, Product Managers, Software Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Analysts, and ML Engineers to understand priorities, plan and execute the roadmap. Contribute to a shared technical vision that embraces simplicity and scalability in software design.
- Recruitment and Talent Acquisition: Own the recruiting process for new engineers in the team, ensuring the acquisition of talent that meets or exceeds our technical and cultural standards.
- Culture and Environment: Cultivate a strong team culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Ensure the right engineering work environment, including tools, documentation, and processes. Effectively and collaboratively develop team members by providing regular feedback, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting continuous learning and skill development.
- Outcome Measurement: Establish and maintain strong outcomes, ensuring transparency in key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics. Continuously measure and report on the effectiveness and efficiency of the systems.
Your profile:
- Technical Background: 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on scalable user management. Proficient with Typescript, Javascript and React Native..
- Cloud and Streaming Solutions: Experience with cloud technologies and SaaS platforms, as well as streaming solutions such as Kafka and GCP.
- Management Experience: 3+ years of experience in a management role. Proven track record of building and leading teams in a motivated and dynamic environment.
- Leadership Skills: Excellent people leadership skills, with the ability to set clear goals, shape strategies, and align the team for success. Enjoy working with people and fostering a positive team environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written English skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Outcome Measurement: Strong focus on measuring and achieving high-quality outcomes. Ability to establish, track, and report on KPIs and quality metrics to ensure transparency and continuous improvement.
- Security and Compliance: Hands-on experience with GDPR, information security concepts, and data lifecycle management, including data anonymization and deletion processes.
- Architectural Mindset: First-class architectural mindset for both data and software architecture, capable of guiding organizational strategy.
