At Transform, we’re building a metrics repository that enables businesses to capture metric definitions in a standardized, well-formatted, and organized way. It helps teams streamline analysis and enable decision making with confidence and speed. We bridge the gap between those who know the data and those who need the data by creating a trusted metrics repository with an accessible user interface and a broad set of connectors to seamlessly pipe data to downstream systems.

We’re backed by Index, Redpoint, Fathom, and Work Life Ventures and have years of experience working on data at Airbnb, Facebook, Slack, BlackRock, and Instagram. We’ve dedicated our careers to improving data infrastructure, from warehouses to machine learning platforms. We saw at Airbnb that a metrics repository improves both the speed and trustworthiness of data across all tools at a company.

Job Overview

As Transform’s first Developer Advocate, you will have a unique opportunity to carve out a new category for Transform in the data ecosystem space. Transform is a metrics layer on top of your data warehouse. And while that might be intuitive to some, it’s a mystery to most. Content and evangelism is going to help us bridge that gap; we want to be the single best place on the web to discuss and learn about how data teams do metrics. Be it thought leadership, SEO optimized posts, community sharing, you name it – it’s valuable and we need your help with it. On the way, you’ll work with a bunch of other teams at Transform – like product, customer success, and engineering – to tell these stories and build that community that keeps coming back. This position will report to the Marketing org.

What will you do at Transform

  • Organize meetups and lead speaking sessions in conferences
  • Proactively engage with influencers/bloggers on various data science/engineering slack communities such as Locally Optimistic, Data Mesh Learning, and dbt labs
  • Build strategies and experiment with tactics to build a community around the metrics store category
  • Support the creation of engaging technical content that will resonate with data analysts, analytics engineers, and data engineers
  • Support product documentation by collaborating closely with engineering, product, and customer success teams

What will you need to be successful

  • Passion for building the broader data analyst/engineering community with engaging content
  • A balance of technical acumen and hands-on experience in the data ecosystem. Experience with designing and/or using data systems/tools, SQL, Python, etc

Nice to haves

  • You are already an active member of the data science community
  • Experience building videos/tutorials/demos by distilling complex technical concepts to both data and business professionals
  • Experience working in high-paced startup environments
