Zheela focusses on marketing, content and strategic communication across Index and its portfolio companies. She has supported the research and writing of Index’s guidebooks on scaling startups including Expanding into Europe, Expanding to the US and Rewarding Talent II.
Prior to joining Index, Zheela led the creation of flagship programmes, Net-Zero and Upscale, at Tech Nation: the UK government’s entrepreneur network. The Net-Zero programme was designed to identify, support and scale climate-tech startups to achieve the UK’s emission targets.
Zheela was the Director of Consumer Product at Metail, a 3D body modelling startup, accelerating sustainability in the apparel industry. She was an associate at Techstars and co-founder of Pakathon: a global network for tech solutions tackling Pakistan’s most pressing problems.
Zheela studied architecture at Yale University and MIT.
