This is Adyen
Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.
For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.
The Role : CDD KYC QA Specialist
Adyen is moving fast, and our Merchant Operations (MOPs) team is the engine ensuring we grow responsibly. We’ve recently centralized our Quality Assurance function into the MOPs Excellence domain, transforming it from a standard checkpoint into a strategic partner that drives quality and efficiency across the globe.
We are looking for a specialist to help us build and scale our QA frameworks. The core focus of this role is driving excellence across our CDD and KYC processes. In addition to these primary pillars, you will support quality oversight across the wider customer lifecycle as needed, including AML, Screening, Event Driven Reviews (EDR), and Terminations. You will ensure our global quality standards are executed with precision, moving beyond simple checks to become a "strategic enabler" who provides insights-driven risk mitigation.
What You Will Do
- Primary QA Execution: Perform in-depth QA reviews with a core focus on CDD/KYC processes to identify systemic weaknesses before they become risks.
- Lifecycle Support: Provide quality oversight as needed across other critical stages of the merchant risk lifecycle, including AML, Screening, Event Driven Reviews (EDR), and Terminations.
- Onboarding & Periodic Review Excellence: Maintain the highest quality standards for merchant risk assessments, from initial Underwriting to periodic and event-driven reviews.
- Guideline Creation & Transparency: Develop and maintain clear QA guidelines for analysts, ensuring that quality benchmarks are transparent, easily accessible, and strictly aligned with our global compliance procedures.
- Framework Development: Design and refine end-to-end QA frameworks that don’t just find errors, but actively facilitate the efficiency and accuracy of our operations.
- Empower & Enable: Coach MOPs leads and analysts to take ownership of their own quality. You will provide targeted training on compliance gaps identified during QA to proactively reduce error rates.
- Reporting & Insights: Translate QA findings into actionable dashboards and reports for leadership and compliance functions, ensuring we are always audit-ready and strategically aligned. You don't just report numbers; you clearly explain the "so what" behind the data, providing decisive insights that are tailored to your audience.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with 1st line, Compliance, Project Managers (Excellence team), and Product to drive continuous improvement and foster a global culture of shared quality and accountability.
Who You Are
- You bring 3+ years of experience in CDD/KYC operational, QA, or compliance control oversight roles.
- You have a deep-seated understanding of AML/CFT frameworks and the regulatory nuances governing merchant onboarding and the wider customer lifecycle (including EDR and Terminations).
- You possess exceptional English communication skills. You are an expert at tailoring your message to different audiences, delivering feedback that is both actionable and professional across key stakeholders.
- You possess strong data analysis skills and the ability to synthesize complex information. You are comfortable diving into data to spot trends, identify root causes, and turn raw findings into strategic recommendations.
- You have a track record of working successfully cross-functionally with diverse stakeholders to drive various initiatives and process improvements to completion.
- You don’t just "check" work—you own the outcome. You see Quality Assurance as a strategic business enabler, ensuring Adyen scales safely without sacrificing speed.
- You have an "automation-first" mindset, naturally spotting manual bottlenecks and challenging existing processes to find a better way.
