In founding Ankorstore in 2019, they set the goal to create a virtuous ecosystem at the service of independent shops and brands.

About Us**At Ankorstore, we believe that local independent retailers have a great impact on the soul of our cities and villages, and we believe that they will flourish even more if they are provided with great tools and exceptional shopping conditions. With this in mind, we are building the largest marketplace that connects authentic European brands with thousands of independent retailers. We are extremely proud to be able to support these amazing entrepreneurs every day.

Ankorstore was founded in 2019 and has recently closed a $100 million Series B funding. We’ve grown our headcount 10x in the last 6 months, from 40 people to over 400, and plan to continue scaling strongly.We’re moving fast to build the best products for our brands and retailers. In 2022 we plan to triple our engineering team by hiring at least 150 new technical roles. We plan to deepen our expertise in the backend, frontend, mobile, infrastructure, and other areas to help us build out our platform.

As an Engineering Manager, your #1 mission is to drive, empower your team and give each team member the resources they need to architect and implement new features and solve issues on our core product. Through coaching and mentoring you will be helping engineers in your team to write maintainable, scalable, and well-tested code.

This is a key role for our company’s success as you will be working very closely with your Product, Design, Business Intelligence, and other stakeholders to shape the vision of our product and make our ideas and dreams reality.

  • What you will do as an Engineering Manager at Ankorstore
  • Lead a small group (4-7 people) of exceptionally skilled engineers* Supervise day-to-day technical tasks* Ensure they have the right resources, tools and skills to succeed in their role* Motivate and empower the teams to enhance engagement and performance* Define team and individual goals in line with Ankorstore’s objectives, plan and monitor their achievements and ensure the performance of the team, help individual career progressions* Anticipate, organise and monitor the activities of the team, allocate the right resources for the right objectives* In collaboration with the People Team and your Manager, anticipate and plan your team evolution, participate to the definition of the needs and requirements, and actively contribute to the hiring process * Ensure a strong onboarding for new joiners and ongoing training and shadowing* Ensure your team is providing support for the code they put into production* Act as a role model, share best practices and encourage peers and team members to strive* Use an individualised approach to identify development potential, performance challenges and put in place action plans to help the team grow professionally and personally* Provide continuous and constructive feedback* Partner closely with your Design and Product counterparts to shape the vision for your team and create the both long and short term technology roadmap for your team, align this with the overall company strategy as well as with the priorities from business
