You’ll be an instrumental part of a growing retail brand!  Working closely with the leadership team you’ll play a key role in implementing the retail sales strategy. As a National Account Manager you will collaborate with a wide range of retail partners and distributors to maximize Bird’s emerging consumer product portfolio.  As the main point of contact you will own all account management functions and closely collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the needs of Bird’s retail partners are met.  You’ll work across retail channels to meet annual goals while strategically developing relationships to enable future sales opportunities.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage a book of business and required to meet/exceed sales quotas by working with major national, regional, and online retailers, IBD’s, as well as business to business customers
  • Fully own account management responsibilities and the sales lifecycle including all day to day communication,  purchase orders, account profitability, key promotions and activations, and developing expertise in the intricacies of individual partner policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Maximize sales opportunities through regular interactions with distribution partners, retailers, and business partnersAll day to day communication between Bird and the distributors
  • Facilitate interactions with external and internal stakeholders to deliver on objectives
  • Develop market and category expertise by leveraging market data, observing market dynamics, and analyzing existing business
  • Grow customer base through the evaluation and development of new domestic and international markets.  Support new markets by closely working with importers, distributors, or other stakeholders
  • Participate in the product development cycle and manage the portfolio across distribution channels
  • Frequently provide updates to the leadership team on all key activities of the distributors and retailers to facilitate clear understanding of priorities
  • Attend and promote Bird and its products at exhibitions, trade shows and conferences
  • Travel across the territory (up to 50%) to fully support and maximize sales

What You’ll Need

  • 7+ years experience in U.S. sales of complex products with a preference for micro mobility category (eScooters, eBikes, other Micro EV form factors) and experience with seasonal categories.  Ideally extensive contacts with distributors, major retail chains and Independent Bike Dealers in the premium eBike category.
  • A positive attitude, a sense of curiosity, loves being part of a team, invested in an inclusive culture, is curious and possesses a strong bias for action
  • Experience working with major national omnichannel retail chains, regional chains, and other unique retail outlets.
  • Knowledge of the tools and metrics critical to driving digital awareness, conversion, and gaining a competitive edge in an omnichannel environment
  • Highly comfortable with data, analytics, large data sets, and ability to synthesize data into insights
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effortlessly as the face of the company with key accounts electronically and in person. High level of comfort to formally present and sell with sales tools both internal and external.
  • Display an awareness, knowledge, and curiosity of international trade, logistics, finance, production, products, certification, sales, and marketing necessary to active objectives and build relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver upon multi-year strategic sales plans
  • Experience in building long term relationships and comfort developing new business through relationships and market analytics
  • Highly proficient with technology and various software tools including knowledge of Google GSuite and experience with Salesforce
  • Thrives in a fast paced environment and performs under pressure
  • Must be able to follow direction from senior leadership to prioritize sales goals
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
