We are a small and agile team with a presence across Europe, USA and Asia. We are growing very quickly due to the increased demand from new clients.

The role and key responsibilities

We are looking for a VP of Engineering to support the CTO and take some ownership in leading the technical team. The ideal candidate will be playing a pivotal role in recruiting, developing and leading a highly effective and high-performing global engineering team, that is set to double in size in the next 12 months. The responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Organising work in teams based on the product vision
  • Ensuring the execution of the product vision and plans according to the established quality metrics
  • Continuously improve the processes and documentation behind the technical product execution
  • Lead and grow a globally distributed engineering organization through hiring and coaching
  • Focus on talent recruitment and career development
  • Set and manage expectations between internal and external stakeholders
  • Grow an outstanding, healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the company values
  • Be an active part of the leadership team and collaborate with other leaders in the organisation
  • Scrum-like approach for SaaS deployments and release management to global clients. Streamline the workflow between engineering and QA teams
  • Coach technical team leads and other cross-functional teams
  • Communicate technology strategy at all levels to fellow management, investors, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholders as and when required

Requirements

  • Clear track record of leading high-performing geo-dispersed tech teams, or working closely with such a leader for at least 2 years
  • 5+ years experience of working with enterprise clients across the globe
  • Commercial mindset evolved through extensive project management experience in a multi-stakeholder environment
  • Strong technical and engineering background that includes cloud technology, platforms and user-facing applications
  • Good knowledge and experience of our stack and tools - see further below
  • You must live within commuting distance of London (although the role will be remote at first)
  • Ability to communicate in English at a professional level, both written and oral
