Codecademy is looking for a knowledgeable programmer or instructor to help write Rust content for Codecademy that will be targeted towards individuals already working in tech. We are searching for individuals highly skilled in Rust and knowledgeable about educational best practices to help create new content for this effort. The Rust Content Contributor works directly with the Codecademy Curriculum team to author articles, lessons, quizzes, and projects on various topics to be released to the Codecademy Catalog. This is a paid, remote, contract position.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and author articles exploring a variety of coding topics related to Rust.
  • Think pedagogically to break down technical concepts into digestible components.
  • Collaborate with Codecademy’s Curriculum team to craft learning outcomes and build a compelling learner experience.

What You’ll Need

  • Fluent with Rust.
  • Experience writing educational content that teaches coding concepts.
  • A strong command of written and spoken English.
  • An ability to produce educational writing that requires very little editing.
  • An ability and willingness to integrate feedback from Curriculum Developers and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Experience with developer tools such as Git, GitHub, and the command line.
  • What Will Make You Stand Out
  • 2+ years experience using Rust in a professional context.
  • Experience using the Codecademy platform.
  • Can operate with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Experience writing educational content that reaches a wide audience in a digital format.
