Your Mission: Build Our Foundation in Portugal and Champion the Team Fighting Financial Crime

As our People Operations Specialist, you will be the heart of our employee experience in Portugal. You will be the organisational powerhouse and trusted partner who provides incredible support to our wonderful employees, ensuring our core people processes run seamlessly from day one.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Orchestrate an Exceptional Employee Journey: Partnering closely with the wider People Team, you will own and manage the end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes. From the first welcome email to the final farewell, you will be the key point of contact, ensuring a positive and seamless experience for every employee.
- Provide Trusted Support: Reporting to the Senior People Operations Manager, you will be the go-to person for our Portugal-based employees and managers, providing guidance on internal policies and answering questions about benefits.
- Manage Local Compliance and Benefits: You will handle the operational administration of our benefits programs in Portugal and ensure all employee files are correctly signed, archived, and fully compliant.
- Champion Data Integrity: You will maintain the accuracy of our employee data across all People systems, ensuring our records are always up-to-date and compliant with local regulations.
- Drive Payroll Excellence: You will be responsible for our Portuguese payroll, partnering closely with our external payroll provider to prepare and check all inputs, guaranteeing our team is paid accurately and on time.
- Champion Our Portugal Workplace & Culture: As our first People team member on the ground, you’ll wear multiple hats to build an exceptional local environment. You will be the champion for both our culture and our workplace, which involves everything from helping to arrange team socials and ensuring a safe, healthy workspace, to supporting general office management and establishing ComplyAdvantage as a fantastic place to work in Portugal.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Experience: 2-3 years in a fast-paced Human Resources or People Operations role where you've had to manage competing priorities, ideally within a tech company.
- A Self-Starter Mentality: You are highly motivated and comfortable working autonomously while being part of a wider global team. You can take initiative and manage your time and workload effectively.
- Organisational Mastery: You have an outstanding ability to multitask with a keen eye for detail.
- Relationship Building: You possess strong interpersonal skills and a natural ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with people at all levels.
- Tech-Savviness: You're comfortable with HR systems (experience with an HRIS like HiBob is a big plus!) and productivity tools like Google Suite. You’re also curious about automations and using AI tooling.
