The Confluent Professional Services business is central to the current and go-forward strategy at the company - demonstrated by the way in which it accelerates our customers’ onboarding, maturity, and time to value. Many of our customers are seeking to fundamentally transform their data infrastructure to support a highly personalized, real-time, connected world and are turning to Confluent to help them in that strategic transformation. To deliver on that, we are not only building on the direct channel for Confluent Services but seeking a leader who understands and has experience in building and activating, the critical partner services ecosystem around what we believe is a $50B data infrastructure license opportunity. As Vice President, Global Professional Services, you will lead the evolution of our global services teams, accelerating our customers’ time to value and ensuring customer outcomes with Confluent’s innovative technology.   As a transformational leader, you will drive the strategic direction of the services organization & innovation in the portfolio, develop a high-performing team, and support the success of our partner delivery ecosystem while exceeding financial targets.  Reporting to the SVP, Global Services, and Success, you will be an active customer evangelist and will be the accountable leader for all aspects of global professional services, including services sales, delivery, scale, and operations.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and scale a world-class, multi-discipline services organization.  Drive vision, growth strategy, and an execution plan growing our customer-first culture and the development and delivery of global services offerings that address our customers’ unique needs
  • Scale the business from 50 to $250M in services, maintaining a foundation of operational rigor and execution excellence;  activating partners as a path to scale
  • Refine GTM and portfolio offerings to meet the needs of Confluent’s customers as they mature with data in motion
  • Own the professional services P&L, and all aspects of customer success related to PS delivery activities globally; take a data-driven approach to manage revenue, profitability, utilization, margin, engagement health, and key technology adoption metrics across our customer base.
  • Establish professional services as thought leaders and experts for how to drive success with Confluent across people, processes, and technology, including services-led sales motions.
  • Build and refine global practices, standards, and processes that will help us scale to the next level of services growth and customer maturity across new services offerings, staffing, methodologies, and organizational structures.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and manage a high-performing team supporting enterprise and commercial customers across sales and delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Partner team to develop and execute strategies to scale customer success via partner ecosystem, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Be a trusted advisor/executive sponsor to select customers and partners at CxO levels
  • Collaborate internally with stakeholders from CSG, Sales, Partner, and Engineering, and Product teams to drive a customer-centric, frictionless success experience.
  • Ensure world-class quality execution across all engagements.  Provide leadership, guidance, and management to continuously improve service and employee engagement while fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, innovation, and inclusion.

What we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years of experience as a results-driven Professional Services Leader in the data/infrastructure space
  • Experience in rapidly scaling a services business by building a foundation for scale, partner activation, and services-led motions
  • Expertise in developing GTM strategy and portfolio definition, specifically around packaging and delivery of data infrastructure engagements
  • A strategic customer-centric leader with strong business acumen and experience in impacting customers’ return on investment with technology.
  • A people-focused leader with the ability to build creative, collaborative teams, develop people, and link performance to high growth business objectives
  • Successful track record of growing global services business by aligning and driving strategy with operations across a global organization
  • Proven ability to articulate services value propositions tailored to varying customer needs.
  • Operational excellence while scaling in a high growth environment
  • Ability to engage and influence people cross-functionally across Field, Product, and other globally matrixed teams.
  • Previous experience in supporting the sale of Cloud Solutions
  • Ability to hire, engage, & motivate great talent
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment and ability to reprioritize while focusing on long-term priorities

  • Experience with Kafka
  • Experience consumption-driven business models
