Confluent’s Professional Services organisation is far from a traditional vendor outfit, we are not defined by utilisation rate and margins, we are defined by customer success. The strategic significance of the team cannot be overstated, our Technical Engagement Managers (TEM) play an essential role in enabling our customers to successfully deploy the Confluent Platform, either on-prem, in the cloud, or in hybrid solutions.
The TEM role is specific to Europe, you will work with defined accounts to develop our relationship and grow the reach of both our product and services offerings. You will:
- Deliver real technical value to projects through your deep knowledge of distributed data infrastructure. You will have the ability to design, architect and deploy a real time event driven platform at scale.
- Scope, plan, and define project deliverables
- Lead the engagement as primary point of contact
- Drive revenue growth in your accounts
- Prepare Professional Services project proposals
On top of the customer engagements, you will interact right across our organisation, from sales to , support, to represent a one team approach to our customers. To ensure that we build products that deliver beyond customer expectations, communication with our Product, Engineering, R&D teams, and the wider Confluent Community is essential. To really succeed, you will build relationships and engage throughout the company.
As we are growing quickly, you will have opportunities to grow your role at speed. You will need energy and focus, but also the ability to think on your feet and operate in a fluid team environment to ensure we have the right people working on the right projects.
In order to hit the ground running when the ground is already moving fast you will need to bring your experience of building complex distributed solutions for Enterprises. Whilst experience delivering Kafka solutions is desirable, we also recognise experience with complex databases, messaging, stream processing, databases, cloud services and enterprise data integration. You will also need to know your way around datacentre and hyperscaler infrastructure without a map, we don’t expect you to dive into the Linux Kernel but you need to know where it is.
