Cue is a social calendar designed to help you discover events, make plans with friends, and follow the things that matter to you most!

What you’ll do:

  • • Design and implement core backend infrastructure at scale - ranging from API design, data persistence, user management, and recommendation systems
  • • Work across teams to understand product requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver the solutions needed to build innovative products
  • • Help make our team better by contributing to code reviews, documentation, and development process
  • • Advocate for and apply best practices when it comes to availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management
  • • Effectively mentor junior team members

Minimum qualifications:

  • BS/BA in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • • 3+ years of software development experience
  • • Experience with backend services or distributed systems
  • • Desire to create world-class user experiences
  • • A love for tackling tough technical challenges
  • • Ability to collaborate and work well with others

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in at least one of the following areas:
  • • Large-scale microservice infrastructure and distributed systems
  • • Cloud computing and data storage systems
  • • Machine learning and natural language processing
  • • Security
  • • Internal tools
  • • Proven track record of operating highly-available systems at significant scale
  • • Experience with Go and/or Python
  • • Experience with NoSQL, Memcache/Redis, gRPC, Kubernetes, Docker, or Google/AWS services
