The Business Systems team drives efficiency and velocity across the organization through process optimizations, automations, and integrations to allow employees to focus on larger organizational initiatives. The team partners with internal systems teams, including Finance, People, Recruiting, Sales, and more to enhance critical systems and functions and allow for further customization of systems to align with the evolving business needs.

As a Business Systems Engineer II, you will work with teams across Datadog to improve their processes through system integrations and workflow automations. This is a unique role that combines project and stakeholder management with technical hands on work. In addition to using middleware and low/no-code solutions, you will partner with software engineers to deliver fully custom integrations and solutions.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships that it builds, the creativity it brings to the table, and the collaboration of being together. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do:

  • Learn how business systems currently function and how they are used within Datadog. Use this knowledge to identify technical gaps and areas for improvement
  • Architect, build, and maintain system integrations and process automations
  • Plan, prioritize, and deliver system enhancements; execute unit, integration, and acceptance testing to meet business requirements
  • Create and maintain internal documentation and processes
  • Collaborate with the Security, Privacy & Compliance teams to ensure business systems adhere to Datadog security, privacy, and compliance standards (eg. GDPR, SOX)

Who You Are:

  • Ability to analyze business requirements, design and configure recommended solution, and communicate technical solutions to various audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong problem solving and technical skills
  • Prior experience making buy vs build decisions
  • 2+ years as a business system administrator (e.g., NetSuite, Zendesk, Salesforce or Workday) or in a similar role
  • 2+ years leading small to medium sized cross-functional projects from requirements gathering to go-live across Finance, HR, and Sales
  • Prior experience integrating systems using middleware (e.g., Workato, Boomi, Mulesoft, Zapier)
  • You are comfortable with code (e.g., Python, SQL) and are excited to learn and develop across enterprise-grade systems (e.g., Greenhouse, NetSuite, Salesforce, Workday)

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
