AI Governance Lead
The role
As we mature as an organisation, we are looking for someone to own AI governance (where AI includes Machine Learning, Operational Research, and GenAI). This includes running our AI bias reviews, coordinating and writing AI policies and training materials, contributing to the design of our AI model registry, and day-to-day support to ensure compliance with laws and best practice. We believe the ideal candidate would be someone with strong hands-on ML skills, who is interested in moving to or trying out a role that is more policy and governance-oriented. They will have very strong written communication, and be able to draft policy documents and training material.
This is a hybrid role requiring three days a week in our London office (Cannon Street). You will report to the Data Management Director.
What you’ll do
- Day-to-day ownership of our AI bias review process
- Draft policy documents and training material
- Work closely with colleagues in legal and compliance to ensure we are following laws and best practice
- Work with the VP Science and draft documents on her behalf
- Work out what metadata we require about our AI systems, and ensure we are capturing it and taking any necessary action as a result of data gathered, for example doing bias reviews
- Own any new AI governance and compliance processes
- Monitor and adapt governance to recent AI regulatory trends and policies
- Co-develop AI governance training programs
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building AI models in a company like Deliveroo
- A good understanding of risks in AI, and how to mitigate them
- Great document writing skills
- Great senior stakeholder management ability, clear verbal communication skills
- Great project management, execution, and ability to work independently
- Flexibility and initiative
- [Bonus] Familiarity and ability to keep up to date with legislation and policy in this field

All you need is a passion for (most) food and a desire to be part of one of the fastest-growing businesses in a rapidly growing industry.
We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in all aspects of our hiring process.
