Director, Asset Protection & Safety (EMEA)Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation, and growth drives everything we do. Our Operations team sits at the heart of Deliveroo’s marketplace—shaping how we serve customers, grocers, and partners through a world-class fulfillment network. As part of the global DoorDash and Wolt family, we are building a high-scale logistics platform that demands excellence in safety and security. If you thrive in fast-paced environments and want to build a function from the ground up—this is the team for you.
We’re looking for a Director of Asset Protection & Safety to join our London team. In this role, you’ll build and lead a best-in-class safety, security, and loss prevention function across our micro-fulfillment and last-mile operations in EMEA.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be joining the Global Safety and Security team in a true build-and-scale leadership role. You will define and embed the frameworks that protect our people, property, and assets while enabling the business to operate with speed and confidence.
Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:
Lead the EMEA Asset Protection & Safety strategy. Own the end-to-end strategy across all fulfillment sites in EMEA, establishing a unified operating model across health and safety, physical security, and asset protection. Build scalable frameworks, governance, and KPIs that drive consistency while allowing for local nuance. Embed safety into operational design and execution. Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Real Estate, Facilities, Legal, HR, and Product to ensure safety is built into site design, workflows, and processes from day one, shifting from reactive compliance to proactive risk mitigation. Drive step-change improvements in loss prevention. Develop and implement a comprehensive asset protection strategy addressing internal and external loss drivers. Use data and analytics to identify root causes and deliver measurable reductions in shrink, theft, and damage.
Own physical security across the fulfillment network. Define and scale layered security standards across all sites, including access control, video surveillance, and alarm systems. Ensure consistent deployment, performance, and clear ownership across regions. Stand up world-class investigations and risk management. Build structured incident management and investigation frameworks. Lead root cause analysis and ensure learnings translate into systemic operational improvements that reduce repeat incidents.
Drive global compliance and regulatory alignment. Ensure adherence to occupational health, safety, and security regulations across all EMEA markets. Establish policies, audit programs, and governance mechanisms that scale with the business.
Build and lead high-performing teams. Hire, develop, and lead regional leaders across asset protection and safety. Create clear accountability, performance standards, and a culture of ownership, urgency, and continuous improvement.
Leverage data and technology to scale impact. Develop data-driven programs using incident trends, risk assessments, and operational metrics. Partner with internal teams to deploy tools that enhance visibility, automate workflows, and strengthen prevention capabilities.
Influence at the highest levels of the organisation. Act as a trusted partner to senior leadership, shaping decisions that balance risk, cost, and growth. Position safety and asset protection as core business enablers, not constraints.
-
Operate with discipline and accountability. Own a multi-million dollar budget, vendor strategy, and performance management framework. Ensure investments are aligned to risk and deliver measurable outcomes across safety, security, and loss metrics.
