The Discord family is looking for a copywriter in Art School, our in-house creative team. You will work with a team of experienced graphic designers, illustrators, motion designers, and project managers. You will get a chance to create content across all creative projects - brand videos, ad campaigns, blogs, and much more. You may also high-five some people along the way...virtually.

As a member of the creative team, you’ll help create content to communicate the Discord brand to the world. We are a collaborative team that focuses on creating high-quality experiences that enhance Discord above everything else. The Team

Your team will consist of two other copywriters and a Copywriting Creative Director, in the greater Art School team that includes Graphic Designers, Illustrators, Motion Designers, and Project Managers. Our primary purpose in Art School is to create compelling and outstanding creative content that meets our mission, to create space for everyone to find belonging.

What you’ll do

  • Write compelling copy on a variety of creative projects including campaigns, digital ads, social media posts, collateral (online and offline), and much more
  • Write both long and short form (non-editorial) branded content
  • Maintain our brand voice across all creative projects
  • Work with multiple internal clients on how to best engage our customers through copywriting
  • Bring empathy and clarity through your words by see things from a customer’s point of view
  • Interpret creative briefs to understand project requirements as it relates to copywriting
  • Work with designers, marketers, and other professionals on large- and small-scale projects

What you should have

  • 5+ years of proven creative copywriting experience in an agency, entertainment, gaming, or in-house creative team
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Experience writing for long and short form content for advertising and marketing
  • Adapt your writing style to different audiences and platforms
  • Be a highly organized with a high level of craft
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • A portfolio of your writing projects with a detailed description of your involvement
  • Good proofreading skills, and experience in brand communications are musts; works and plays well with others, essential
