Lisbon

Our Lisbon office is located in Portugal's cosmopolitan capital. Mostly the teams here are focused around Technology and Store of the Future. In this office, Farfetchers like to have catch ups in the ball pit or creative moments by the grand piano!

The role

We are looking for a Lead Engineer to be part of Farfetch's Engineering Team. You will lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team of engineers working towards our goals. You will work in a relaxed environment and be part of a well-motivated and growing team. If you want to evolve, if you are willing to share knowledge and to be part of the building process to reach the top, using the latest technology stack and having fun doing it, this is an opportunity you can't miss.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate team management, reporting and roadmap execution for your team;
  • Actively participate in the training and building skills of the developers on your team;
  • Understand the full development lifecycle with emphasis on software quality processes.
  • Collaborate with other teams (tech and non-tech) to help unblock issues, find synergies and ensure we are building the right tools
  • Help develop software applications aiming to fight fraud in this ever-changing world of online fraud.
  • Be part of the team deciding the direction of fraud detection systems.

Who you are

  • A leader well versed in team management with a focus on the continuous development of your team;
  • A promoter of software development best practices;
  • Experienced working with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, ...);
  • An excellent team player and with exquisite communication skills;
  • Skilled in problem solving and with a proactive attitude;
  • Seasoned regarding team dynamics and conflict resolution;
  • Experience with event-driven systems, functional programming, fraud prevention/detection systems and Java or Kotlin are not required but nice to have.
