Figma is growing our team of passionate people on a mission to make design accessible to all. Born on the Web, Figma helps entire product teams brainstorm, design and build better products — from start to finish. Whether it’s consolidating tools, simplifying workflows, or collaborating across teams and time zones, Figma makes the design process faster, more efficient, and fun while keeping everyone on the same page. From great products to long-lasting companies, we believe that nothing great is made alone—come make with us!

We’re looking for a couple of design managers to lead two exciting areas of our product portfolio — either Editor (Designer Experience) or FigJam.

Editor (Designer Experience)

You’ll lead the team responsible for the Figma editor – Figma’s heart and soul. This team is responsible for features related to editing and design systems, and sets the tone for other products that use the editor as a foundation. We’re hoping to find a technically skilled person who is excited to push the bar for quality and execution on their teams, and isn’t afraid to get into the weeds and get their hands dirty. This is an opportunity to own one of the most important surfaces at Figma, lead a wonderful group of designers, and collaborate with some very talented people.

FigJam

You’ll lead a team within the FigJam pillar. We’re hoping to find someone who’s excited for both the strategic challenge of building new products, but also helps their team ship ambitious, high-quality products. This is an exciting opportunity to own one of the newest and essential frontiers at Figma and lead a team of world-class craftspeople. The work you’ll do will redefine Figma’s product suite, core audiences, and future as a business.

This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.

What you'll do at Figma:

  • Manage and hire a group of world-class designers of all experience levels
  • Partner with Product and Engineering leads in this area to improve team processes and execution and coach individual teams through setting roadmap and strategy
  • Develop a perspective on your teams’ product areas and successfully advocate for it across the organization
  • Run and improve team processes like critiques and sprints
  • Advance your own skills at people management in a supportive and growth-oriented environment

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • A proven track record as a craftsperson and ability to teach others
  • Experience influencing teams through strategic thinking and communication

While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:

  • Experience working on technical products or complex systems (e.g. editing tools, word processors, etc.)
  • Experience working on early stage or zero-to-one projects
  • We love people who like to take risks with new and interesting methodologies and ideas; who are not always satisfied with the status quo and always eager to improve both themselves and others.
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
