We are looking for Senior Frontend Developers to help us build amazing experiences for our Tenants, Landlords and Agents.

We expect more people renting than ever before. That’s why we believe renting should be more affordable and accessible. We are a young and innovative startup company solving an affordability problem by offering deposit-free renting to millions of Tenants across the UK - with lots more exciting stuff to come.

We have built a core team and a product we are proud of, raised significant start capital and partnered with UK's largest agencies and landlords. Since we launched we have saved millions of pounds in upfront move-in costs for tenants.

Focus of the Role:

On your day to day you will be working on our core product used by tenants, landlords and agents to manage their tenancies. We’re a small company, as an engineer you'd be able to work directly with everyone on the team. You’ll have a chance to learn a lot not only about engineering but also about every detail of growing a young business. We love open source, we want to give back to the community so in addition to your standard holiday allowance you can take extra days of to contribute to your favourite open source projects.

Tech Stack:

We use a mix of technologies at flatfair and we have a believe in picking the best tool for the job. Most of our frontend projects are written in Vue.js. Backend is a mixture of python and node. We use CircleCI, terraform, AWS Lambda and PostgreSQL. On an usual day you can expect to:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in a small team of developers and designers to build our core platform
  • Build simple and elegant code
  • Set an example for software engineering best practice
  • Write HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Collaborate with the team and help to decide how to improve our product
  • Iterate and optimising products based on feedback and data analytics.
  • Take ownership of your project
  • Work closely with designers and engineers to create our design system.
  • Help to make decisions about front-end technologies, to make sure the team stays productive as the front-end stack evolves.


The skills and experience you’ll likely have:

  • Relevant experience working in a frontend role with a modern js framework (react, angular, vue.js, ember)
  • Expert knowledge of javascript, html and css
  • You know good UX and visual design when you see it.
  • Experience in unit and functional testing

Interview Process

Our interview process consists of an initial phone screen, a take-home code test, and a half-day on-site interview. We promise not to ask you any brain teasers or trick questions, and we won't make you code on a whiteboard!
