The Team

The legal team partners with the whole business at incident.io - from sales, to engineering and marketing teams.

As the second member of the legal team in a fast-growing and fast-paced business, every day presents fresh challenges. You will play a pivotal role in helping to develop processes and continue to shape the legal function, while being at the forefront of cutting edge initiatives and enabling the incident.io business.

This role will appeal to a commercially minded individual with data protection and commercial contracts experience.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Acting as a trusted advisor to business partners - including sales, marketing, engineering and finance finance - and by providing pragmatic advice on a wide number of matters to help manage risk and unblock legal challenges
  • Lead on the drafting, review, and negotiation of a wide range of commercial contracts to ensure the safeguarding of incident.io’s business interests
  • Advising on data protection and privacy issues to support the engineering team with product development
  • Assist with the preparation of standard forms and templates
  • Support the legal team on ongoing improvements and initiatives to support the business in becoming “self serve”

What experience you need to be successful:

  • Are a qualified lawyer with post-qualification experience
  • Have excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
  • Have experience in dealing with data protection and privacy issues
  • Are happy to work autonomously, as well as working collaboratively within the wider team
  • Are comfortable working in fast paced environments and thrive in a degree of ambiguity
  • Have previous in-house experience (we’re particularly interested in hearing from you if you have experience in a start-up environment).

The salary for this position is determined by several job-related factors, such as experience, relevant skills, training, location, business needs, or market demands. The salary range for this role is £70,000 - £110,000. The position also offers equity options.
