About incident.io
incident.io is an incident management platform that helps companies when things go wrong. Whether they're site outages, data breaches, or functionality issues, incidents happen literally all the time. When they do, we help get the right people in the room, we run and communicate how you're responding, and we give you a suite of tools and insights to learn and improve over time.
The Team
Our Business Development Representatives (BDRs) are often the first time that a potential customer interacts with our company. We want this experience to feel thoughtful and magical. They’re responsible for identifying and engaging high-potential prospects through a variety of different means — ultimately driving pipeline and growth for the business.
So, why hire this role now? We’ve mostly grown through inbound demand. We’ve made some small investments into our BDR team, and have seen promising early results. We believe now is the time to invest further, and want to bring on a key leader to help define and grow what Business Development looks like here.
What you’ll be doing:
- Building our top-of-funnel business development engine. You’ll operate in a ambiguous, greenfield environment, where many approaches to drive growth simply haven’t been tried properly yet. You’ll deeply understand the inputs that create the outputs, and will use all the above to help turn ambiguity into structure that we can use to scale.
- Building a high-performing team in service of the above. An important part of the role is helping hire our future star Account Executives. You’ll do that through targeted recruitment, comprehensive training, and ongoing development, while fostering a coaching culture that develops talent, drives performance, and promotes growth opportunities.
- Leading the team to exceed sales qualified opportunity targets, tracking KPIs and providing feedback to ensure team success aligns with organizational objectives.
What experience you need to be successful:
- Multiple years building and managing BDR teams, with opinions built from direct experience and ‘burned fingers’, vs. someone that is doing this for the first time.
- Has succeeded in highly ambiguous environments. This role is for someone that wants to help build and define (10x improvements in performance), vs optimize (10% improvements in performance).
- Proficiency in systems and analytics. A key challenge of the role is about proving a model out, replicating it and scaling it. You’ll need to be able to understand which inputs matter in creating the outputs
- Strong understanding of outbound sales strategies with demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing effective outbound sales campaigns, including multi-channel prospecting techniques.
The salary for this position is determined by several job-related factors, such as experience, relevant skills, training, location, business needs, or market demands. The salary range for this role is $150,000-$200,000. The position also offers equity options and commission.
Our commitment to diversity
We embrace diversity at incident.io, and believe in creating supportive and inclusive environments where all of our employees can succeed. To build a product that’s loved by everyone, we need a team with all kinds of different perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds. That’s why we’re committed to hiring people regardless of race, religion, colour, national origin, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender identity, age, neurodiversity status, disability status, or otherwise.
