About the role: Events have been key in the development and maturation of the pipeline here at Kong. With this growth comes the expansion of the team. We at Kong are looking for an Event Manager to join our Demand Generation team. This individual reporting to the Head of Events will work closely on Event Sponsorships, Developer Events, and assist with our annual API Summit conference. This role involves managing all aspects of event planning, from budgeting and vendor coordination to content creation and post-event analysis. You must thrive in fast-paced environments, leveraging strong organizational and communication skills to deliver impactful experiences that drive engagement and lead generation. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for innovation, you aim to create memorable events that showcase the company’s tech solutions and strengthen its position in the market.
What you'll do:
- Support the Demand Generations teams goals by supporting large and small scale sponsored events. Including booth management, staffing, logistics and shipping, and creating reporting for the GTM teams.
- Assist the Head of Events with Kong’s annual conference, API Summit. You will manage certain aspects of the event including event sponsorships and vendor management.
- Own the production and logistics of swag for the EMEA GTM team
- Work closely with the Events Marketing team to develop strategies for post event communications and promotions.
- Collaborate with Field Enablement to coach and train the field teams on Kong’s booth pitch.
- Support the EMEA Field Marketing and Developer Marketing teams as needed
- Any additional tasks required by manager
Who you are :
- 1-3 years of events management experience (For tech company or similar industry)
- Have the desire and ability to learn a technical product and in 3-6 months be able to pitch to industry professionals
- Strong communication skills with the ability to write compelling copy and communicate with executives.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, adhere to budgets, and come up with creative solutions to problems.
- Past experience with platforms such as Marketo, Salesforce, Tableau, and Confluence
- Demonstrable competence with Google G-Suite tools
- Have the ability to travel 30% of the time (International)
