About the role: We are looking for a visionary technical product marketer who can help us tell the story of Kong runtimes and the future of modern digital infrastructures. As Principal Technical Product Marketing Manager, you will work directly with the Head of Product Marketing to help define the Kong technical platform story and be one of the main drivers of Technical Product Marketing initiatives at Kong. You will serve as a strategic partner to leaders across marketing, product, partnerships, sales and customer success. You are a fast, execution-oriented technical communicator that has a passion for product strategy, content creation, and communicating platform value to both technical and business audiences. You have experience with cloud infrastructure products and their associated technical audiences.
What You'll Do:
- You will use all of Kong’s runtime products! You will become a “hands on keyboard” Kong product and platform expert
- Become an AI and API subject matter expert and communicate that expertise to the market via technical content
- Assist with positioning and messaging efforts with the team to differentiate Kong’s cloud-based API management platform in the market
- Help drive the product roadmap and Kong vision by acting as the voice of the customer and field teams
- Be a thought leader in the AI and API Management spaces and represent Kong in internal and external industry events and conversations. Be comfortable delivering keynotes and demos in front of large audiences while also being a resource for sales reps in prospect meetings
- Work closely with Product, Marketing and Field teams to build and execute a customer centric go-to-market strategy for Kong’s runtime products
- Collaborate with Field Enablement to coach and train the field teams on Kong’s runtime products’ pitch, value proposition, messaging, ROI, competitive positioning, assets, etc.
- And any additional tasks required by manager
Who You Are:
- 5+ years of experience as a technical product marketer, technical product manager, or Solutions Engineer
- Highly collaborative and influential in cross-functional environments. You’ll work with a wide range of stakeholders across marketing, product, developer relations, sales, cx and more
- Past experience in open source software, SaaS platforms, moving from on-premises to cloud managed services, and API management space strongly preferred
- Passion for measurable outcomes and continuous experimentation to drive innovation and results
