About the role: Kong is expanding the UI Engineering team and is looking for a highly talented Senior JavaScript (Vue/Nuxt) engineer to help create scalable, robust, responsive and accessible user interfaces and components packages for our applications. You will be responsible for taking our Konnect and developer portal application to the next level. You will collaborate closely with other frontend engineers and the product team to deliver scalable components and frontend solutions for the application and improve user experience. The ui components and experience you will help write is the foundation of every Kong Web application. An eye for detail and user experience is the key. What you'll be doing:
- Great understanding of Vue, Nuxt, TypeScript and design principles.
- Attention to detail for pixel perfection and UX.
- Professional experience building UI component systems.
- Collaborate with design and build scalable, responsive UI components in CSS and Vue.
- Work with engineers to improve the architecture of our frontend application and shared components.
- Help us to build a world class developer portal experience.
- Write tests (component, regression, smoke) using Cypress, Vitest with great code coverage.
What you'll bring:
- 4+ years of professional experience of Vue/Nuxt and TypeScript.
- 5+ years of experience building SaaS Web applications and web developer tools using HTML, CSS, JS.
- Deep understanding of UI/UX principles and understanding of user and developer experience.
- Working understanding of mono repos, micro-frontends.
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Can design and build features from limited specification and without day to day input.
- Great understanding of CI/CD, Github Actions.
- Able to learn new systems and languages with short ramp up period.
- Can own projects and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Bonus Points
- Familiar/worked with Developer Portals, OpenAPI/Swagger Spec renderers.
- Payment gateway integrations.
- Familiar with API Gateways.
