We are Multiverse, a tech startup with a social mission. We’re building an outstanding alternative to university and corporate training, to develop a diverse group of future leaders. Our impact focuses on three core areas: measuring potential beyond academics, delivering world-class job-focused training via applied learning, and helping diverse groups of young people build social capital through a thriving community.

We are one of the fastest growing businesses in Europe and also rapidly expanding in North America, working with over 300 clients including Facebook, Morgan Stanley, KPMG, Kantar, Citi and Microsoft.

We started 2021 with the UK’s largest ever EdTech funding round - a $44m Series B. Since then we’ve opened our New York office, and been awarded “Outstanding” by OFSTED (the UK government’s education regulator) across every category. In September 2021, we broke the funding record again with a $130m Series C raise.

We are looking for exceptional people to join us as we create something genuinely radical that will replace the way people think about accessing careers and how they learn.

Requirements

Our mission is to create an outstanding alternative to university through professional apprenticeships. In the 4+ years of our existence, we have achieved remarkable things: individuals at all stages of their career gaining new and relevant skills that make a meaningful difference to them and their organisations. We do this through a very special approach to learning, which is seamlessly integrated with day-to-work. Our learning products are not only backed by data and backward-designed from best-in-class models of individual performance, but also centred on a unique relationship between the individual apprentice and a highly skilled and empathetic coach. We give apprentices access to new career possibilities, an aspirational network and professional identity that changes the course of their lives. If this sparks something in you, then you might be interested in joining our team.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime role to play a key part in shaping our learning foundations and offer, and to be part of a unique company with a huge mission, dedicated team, and ample heart to match big brains. We are delivering training for diverse talent and future leaders in companies like Google, Kantar and Just eat, while genuinely rivaling the learning and networking experiences at elite universities.

The role

  • Bringing world-class experience and leadership in learning to bear in a practical way, to build and maintain a world-class product set that scales and achieves consistent results
  • Overseeing learning product development, both through managing others and in a hands-on way; knowing the details and data behind what gets results in all of our programmes, and focusing resources in the right way to achieve excellence
  • Setting and overseeing curriculum development and review practices, ensuring that curricular efforts are right-sized for different stages in the curriculum development process (course maturity), issues are caught and addressed well before they manifest, and learnings are continually incorporated so that mistakes are avoided and best practices scale
  • Implementing a strategic, data-driven approach to product development to ensure product-market fit, using rapid iteration to identify and test hypotheses before launch
  • Overseeing the work to define what makes our learning uniquely ours (the Multiverse Course Blueprint) and brings it to life in different variations across our programmes
  • Integrating technology, peer learning and other innovative components into our Course Blueprint and programmes, to maintain excellence while achieving scale
  • Working closely with the technical product team to drive the vision for the LMS and deliver on our goals, ensuring that we have an apprentice experience in our technology that mirrors our values, our goals and our culture

  • Proposing and managing relevant budgets and resources
  • Effectively representing the work of the Learning Products team to other parts of the business, and ensuring effective interfaces with other teams
  • Forming partnerships and negotiating commercial arrangements to benefit our learners and the company; striking the right balance of in-house work and partnerships
  • Ensuring that learning journeys result in strong credentials and high pass rates; charting the course to grow Multiverse credential value, ultimately ensuring that a Multiverse programme credential will mean something akin to a prestigious university degree; ensuring we can track and bundle skills that apprentices gain on programme to define levels, track progress and connect apprentices to future roles and programmes
  • Collecting and acting on data and feedback ongoing, including from coaches, apprentices, and line managers, to drive improvements and support rapid iteration
  • Being attentive both to immediate needs (launch and improvement of programmes) and building the components of our long-term vision (LMS, credential value, apprentice progressions, etc.)
