About Cyera

Come join the company building the security operating model for the age of AI. AI has changed how data is used — and security must change with it. Cyera's mission is to empower businesses to accelerate AI Adoption by defining a holistic approach to securing AI - from data to access to model. Instead of perimeter controls and static policies, Cyera provides a unified control plane that understands relationships between data, access, and behaviors across humans, systems, and AI. Backed by the world’s leading investors and working with a large and growing list of Fortune 1000 companies, we are looking for world-class talent to join us as we usher in the new era of data and AI security.

Requirements

About the Role:

As a Data Engineer, you'll join our Analytics Engineering team and work on **Dataport** — Cyera's customer-facing data product. Dataport delivers a curated semantic layer built from production data, and serves as the backbone for Cyera's AI offerings. This is production infrastructure that enterprise customers depend on daily. You'll work across the full data pipeline — from entity modeling and multi-stage ETL to semantic layer transformations and multi-region orchestration. You'll join a small, high-velocity team shipping features weekly to a growing customer base.

What You’ll Do:

- Partner closely with product, engineering, and security stakeholders to translate strategic requirements into scalable data models and production ready pipelines.

- Architect and scale multi stage ETL pipelines that move billions of records across database engines into a cloud data warehouse, designing incremental processing strategies that efficiently handle terabyte scale datasets while balancing data quality, freshness, performance, and cost.

- Design, build, and optimize dbt models that convert raw operational data into a trusted, well tested semantic layer that powers analytics, reporting, and product experiences.

- Evolve and extend TypeScript based data entity models to unlock new data domains and enable rapid delivery of product capabilities aligned with business growth.

- Develop robust orchestration workflows to manage multi region deployments, conditional execution paths, and automated data freshness monitoring across complex environments.

- Implement fine grained row level access controls and governance mechanisms to ensure secure, compliant, and customer specific data visibility.

- Proactively monitor and optimize infrastructure spend across compute warehouses, storage layers, and orchestration platforms, driving measurable efficiency improvements.

- Own the reliability of mission critical data systems by diagnosing data quality issues, resolving pipeline failures, and eliminating performance bottlenecks in production environments serving enterprise customers.

Must-Haves:

- 3-5 years of experience as a data engineer working on production data systems.

- Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex transformations, window functions, and performance optimization in Snowflake.

- Proficiency in Python for data pipeline development, tooling, and automation.

- Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript and ORM frameworks (TypeORM, Prisma, Sequelize, or similar) for data entity modeling.

- Hands-on experience with dbt (or similar transformation framework) for building tested, version-controlled analytics models.

- Experience designing and operating ETL/ELT pipelines at scale, including incremental processing patterns.

- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or similar).

- Working knowledge of at least one cloud platform and its data services.

- Comfortable working across multiple codebases and languages in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong communication skills — able to discuss technical tradeoffs with engineers and translate product needs into data models.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with AWS data services (S3, MWAA, Secrets Manager, ECS).

- Experience with ClickHouse, columnar databases, or OLAP systems.

- Familiarity with data replication tools (PeerDB, Debezium, or CDC-based systems).

- Experience implementing row-level security, multi-tenant data architectures, or data access controls.

- Experience with dbt Cloud as a CI/CD and orchestration platform.

- Exposure to data security, privacy, or compliance domains (GDPR, CCPA).
