Do you believe that creators should have the ability to get paid for the value they give to their fans?

We do, which is why we’re building Patreon, a platform that powers membership services for creators with established followings. Patreon strives to provide creators with insight, education, and tools that make it possible to retain creative control while running their creative business, so creators can focus on creating and energising their fanbases.

Our user base has doubled in the last year alone, and we have paid over $2 billion directly to creators on our platform. In order to support this level of growth, Patreon is looking for a Benefits Partner. We are open to candidates based out of our SF, NY, LA offices or fully remote within select cities in the US.

What you will do:

  • Manage employee benefits administration (both US and international) around health, dental, vision, and other benefits/perks by owning the annual open enrollment process
  • Serve as primary liaison with company benefit brokers
  • Provide ongoing benefits support for employees; act as the first point of contact for employee benefits inquiries - answering questions from the HR helpdesk and meeting with employees one-on-one as needed to resolve issues
  • Manage the leaves of absences programs, in partnership with our vendor Tilt
  • Manage immigration and mobility, partnering closely with our external law firm to coordinate visa sponsorship for employees and new hires
  • Lead the design and execution of maintaining competitive global benefit programs, which includes partnering with our benefits brokers to benchmark benefits to competitive landscape, explore new benefit offers, make recommendations for program changes and implement new benefit programs as applicable
  • Assist Patreon’s Workday implementation, including driving the benefits module setup on our new platform
  • Support HR team projects and assignments as needed

Skills and experience you possess:

  • 5+ years of experience in an HR role; 3+ years in benefits specialist roles (CEBS certification a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of US benefits administration; international benefits experience in EMEA (esp. Ireland, Germany and Portugal) a plus.
  • Prior experience using Workday; experience with Workday implementation and Workday benefits modules a plus
  • General knowledge of HR best practices, leaves of absence program management, and  immigration and employer visa sponsorship management
  • Customer service and solutions focused -  “no job is too small” attitude
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Comfort with ambiguity and building from scratch, comfortable in fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented and process driven
  • Values and respects confidentiality
  • Team player, highly collaborative
  • Strong proficiency in Google Apps

Projects you may work on:

  • US open enrollment
  • New benefits program evaluation, selection and implementation

Who You’ll Work With:

At Patreon, you’ll join a high-performing and highly-empathetic team of people who proudly work on fulfilling our mission of funding the creative class. Our culture of creator-first, thoughtful teammates keeps work creative, stretching, and rewarding.

Our Core Behaviors:

  • Put Creators First. Patreon is nothing without our creators.
  • Achieve Ambitious Outcomes. Set, measure, and accomplish goals that deliver massive value to our creators and patrons.
  • Cultivate Inclusion. We want an environment that retains and engages the diverse teams we build.
  • Bias Towards Action. When in doubt, we take the next best step, then course correct when needed. We go out of our way to fix problems when we see them. We take ownership seriously.
  • Be Candid and Kind. Be extremely caring and extremely direct in all you do at Patreon, especially when it comes to giving positive and constructive feedback.
  • Be Curious. You don’t know it all, and that’s the fun part. Everything gets better when you’re curious. Things get more interesting, more clear, and more approachable. When you bring curiosity into the workplace, you’re growing yourself, your teammates, and Patreon as a whole.
