The Role

The Product Owner, Website is part of the Marketing team and reports to the Teamlead Website. Weekly updates are given to discuss current challenges and everyday business topics. The Product Owner, will be responsible for owning the website backlog, prioritisation, requirements gathering and project execution. The mission of this role is to deliver and manage high-quality website functionality that satisfies and delights Personio internal and external users using the marketing websites.

Core responsibilities and expectations:

  • You have a proven track record as a website owner in a complex tech business or previous experience as a project lead agency-side, looking to move to client-side
  • You acquired strong commercial awareness and experience in working as part of a marketing team, are comfortable managing your own time and working to deadlines
  • You have exceptional web analytics and data knowledge, with the ability to use data to derive insight
  • Strong CMS management experience
  • You have a good understanding of SEO
  • You understand best practices for UI and UX for landing pages
  • You have web development experience
  • You are organised and methodical in setting up processes to streamline testing cadence with a team of diverse skills
  • You have a great eye for detail and delivery of high-quality work and possess analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You have project management skills with the ability to move quickly between projects and competing demands

Hard skills:

  • Collaborate with teams across the business to define the features that should be built and to translate business requirements into features and user stories
  • Develop scope and define backlog items from epic to feature to user stores
  • Develop appropriately detailed specifications for product features so that they are clearly understood by the development teams
  • Define clearly written acceptance criteria and testing for user stories and product releases
  • Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product, including product releases
  • Proactively identify issues and opportunities for improvement by talking with business users
  • Clearly communicate the vision for the product and the real value provided, both to motivate the development teams and to get buy-in from other stakeholders
  • Work actively with the Website team and developers to continuously improve the process
  • Maintain effective product help and knowledge base articles, new release highlights, and other technical material
