The team

We are a small but passionate team of 170+ based in San Francisco and Nashville. Pilot’s seasoned founding team has led companies through two prior successful startups and acquisitions (by Oracle and Dropbox). We give our employees a lot of responsibility and ownership of their work, and we hire people from a very wide range of backgrounds and experience. Our team members operate with a high degree of empathy for our customers and each other.

Objectives

  • Successfully meet Pilot’s hiring goals by filling open positions with talented and qualified candidates, within the required time frame
  • Build a diverse and inclusive team at Pilot that reflects the company’s commitment to promoting an inclusive organizational culture

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Head of People (HoP), to design and implement the overall recruiting strategy
  • Manage the entire recruiting process, including sourcing, screening, candidate selection, scheduling interviews, and closing process, using Greenhouse
  • Work with HoP to develop KPI’s for recruiting team: manage KPI achievement and tracking for team
  • Ensure all screening, hiring, and selection is done in accordance with employment laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to develop job descriptions, interview plans and position requirements
  • Source candidates using a variety of search methods to build a robust candidate pipeline (We have Gem and LinkedIn Recruiter)
  • Screen candidates by reviewing resumes and job applications, and performing phone screenings
  • Facilitate the offer process by creating & extending the offer (We utilize DocuSign and Greehouse)
  • Ensure a positive and consistent candidate experience - take ownership of candidate experience by designing & executing C/E initiatives
  • Support the People Operations team with new hire onboarding and new hire process
  • Stay abreast of recruiting trends and best practices

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of recruiting experience required
  • Must have significant experience in technical recruiting
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Proficient in Google Suite
  • Significant knowledge of interview techniques and applicant screening methods
  • Significant knowledge of applicant tracking and HRIS systems including Bamboo HR & Greenhouse
  • Ability to manage a wide range of relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Familiar with a wide variety of sourcing avenues
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective and cooperative working relationships built on trust
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
