We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.
Our New Business team at Plaid combines deep product and industry knowledge and is focused on bringing Plaid to an ever-broadening set of businesses. Our thesis is that the financial services landscape is evolving at a breakneck pace, and every modern company building in the fintech space needs the gold standard of financial technology infrastructure to win, scale, and delight users.
You'll be the one helping us achieve this vision. As a New Business Representative for our FinTech segment, you'll forge the path to finding new clients and prospecting digital-native fintechs, neobanks, alternative lending platforms, and personal finance applications for us to target. We are looking for extraordinary sales professionals with SaaS/tech and/or outbound selling experience who can demonstrate the added value of Plaid and what impact our API suite can have on supercharging a fintech's growth, security, and user experience.
In this role, you will be responsible for organizational mapping, prospecting individuals, driving engagement, setting opportunities for AEs, taking qualification calls, and nurturing early opportunities. The ideal candidate is customer-centric, resilient, challenges the status quo, and has a deep passion for advancing their career at the intersection of tech and finance.
Responsibilities
Acting as a key member of the Plaid GTM Team, supporting several Account Executives hunting new business within the fast-paced FinTech ecosystem.
Liaising with Marketing to provide feedback on fintech-specific campaigns and designing new, cutting-edge outbound efforts.
Identifying prospects and building pipelines through outbound campaigns targeted at fintech founders, heads of engineering, and product leaders.
Helping new clients get started with Plaid and answering technical questions about how our APIs integrate into their existing stacks.
Identifying emerging fintech trends, business models, and sub-verticals (e.g., embedded finance, Web3, alternative underwriting) to help drive increased revenue opportunity.
Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in pipeline development and/or sales (preferably at a SaaS, Fintech, or developer-first tech company).
Leading high-level conversations with tech-savvy founders, product managers, and engineering stakeholders.
The ability to evangelize Plaid’s value proposition in order to assess buying interest from fast-moving, digital-first innovators.
The ability to thrive in a high customer volume, time-sensitive environment.
Having a relentless mindset and an unwillingness to quit when penetrating competitive markets.
Proficiency in using Salesforce.com or other CRM.
Experience working with customers and explaining deeply technical products. Strong interest in the broader fintech landscape, startup funding trends, and API architecture; a high degree of intellectual curiosity.
Excitement to work in a high-growth environment and to help build agile processes and tools as needed.
Desire to get (more) technical and the ability to master the ins and outs of Plaid's entire developer ecosystem (including Auth, Balance, Identity, Income, and Signal).
Our mission at Plaid is to unlock financial freedom for everyone. To support that mission, we seek to build a diverse team of driven individuals who care deeply about making the financial ecosystem more equitable. We recognize that strong qualifications can come from both prior work experiences and lived experiences. We encourage you to apply to a role even if your experience doesn't fully match the job description. We are always looking for team members that will bring something unique to Plaid!
