We’re seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to guide a team of software engineers in solving complex data problems. This role combines technical leadership with people management, focused on building an effective, collaborative team.

• Guide the team’s technical direction and align with PointFive’s engineering principles.
• Collaborate on high-level architectural decisions and review technical designs.
• Lead technical discussions and incident-based learning (RCAs).
• Work with Product Managers to define and deliver project scopes.
• Oversee planning, resource allocation, and communicate progress and roadblocks to stakeholders
• Support team development and foster an inclusive, collaborative environment.
• Continuously optimize team processes to enhance efficiency and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure coding standards, promote testing, and balance quality with rapid delivery.

• Proven leadership experience in software engineering with strong technical skills.
• Excellent project management and people skills, focusing on delivering value, team growth and collaboration.
• Commitment to quality and process improvement.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience working within a cloud-native environment, with knowledge of cloud-native architectures and methodologies.
• Expertise in database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Elasticsearch, and S3.
• Deep understanding of at least one leading cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• 4+ years of experience in backend development.
• 2+ years of experience in a leadership role.

• Go, Temporal, dbt, Modern RDBMS, Snowflake, AWS, Kubernetes, modern design & architectural patterns, React, GraphQL.
