Your Daily Tasks Will Entail:
- Complying with occupational safety, fire safety, and internal regulations
- Ensuring internal monitoring of the work environment and conducting risk assessments for employees and workplaces (including remote workplaces)
- Developing an occupational safety action plan
- Monitoring employees’ mandatory health checks, including during position changes
- Conducting safety briefings: introductory briefings, annual briefings, and special additional briefings for all employees as needed
- Preparing presentations and training programs, and organizing occupational safety training within the company
- Staying updated on occupational safety developments in Latvia and participating in experience-sharing in Europe and the US
- Maintaining the daily system for health insurance policies, communicating with partners (monthly ordering of new cards, cancellation upon termination of employment)
- Organizing and publishing translations of occupational safety materials
- Collaborating with competent authorities on occupational and fire safety issues
- Since we’re an international team, our Health and Safety Specialist needs to have strong English skills as well.
Your Qualifications:
- Higher education or second-level professional qualification in occupational safety
- At least 2 years of experience as an occupational safety specialist, including experience in conducting training and briefings, assessing and managing workplace risks, developing occupational safety-related documents, as well as knowledge of labor law, occupational safety legislation, and regulatory acts (experience in the manufacturing sector is a plus)
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate effectively and respond quickly in critical situations
- Strong communication, presentation, and argumentation skills
- Discipline, precision, and a high sense of responsibility to ensure high-quality execution of duties
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in MS Office
- Fluent Latvian skills and good English skills
- Willingness to learn and continuously improve professional skills
- A first aid certificate and a 160-hour fire safety specialist certificate will be considered an advantage
