The position

This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a Documentation Specialist, joining our People Team. We operate a number of knowledge systems and managing them is a full time job. This role will assist the Documentation & Communications Partner in maintaining and improving the usefulness of these valuable resources as we scale. Day-to-day work includes technical writing, document cleanup, and assisting others with their own knowledge needs as they arise. This is an interdisciplinary role within a fast-paced landscape. Be prepared to work with multiple stakeholders across several departments, in a multitude of countries and time zones.

Requirements

  • Highly motivated, independent individual, with excellent communication skills and habits.
  • 3+ years experience managing/editing internal wikis & knowledge base articles (Notion, Confluence, etc).
  • Excellent analytical and organizational ability.
  • Solid understanding of technical writing conventions and how to edit for different audiences.
  • Advanced documentation layout and formatting skills. Must be able to pick up software tools quickly.
  • Proven ability to edit, proofread, and implement changes, often with little guidance, drafting in public.
  • Writes and speaks fluent English.
  • Ability to comprehend and clearly communicate complex technical processes to a team that doesn’t always count English as a first language.
  • API programming or database management experience a plus.
  • Experience with working for multi-region, multi-cultural teams also a plus.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist documentation partner with assignments, cleanup, management, and improvement of key platforms (Notion, Slack, Drive).
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for internal documentation questions.
  • Provide support as needed for document-related initiatives.
  • Draft & edit content as needed.

Remote’s Total Rewards philosophy is to ensure fair unbiased compensation and fair pay along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate. We do not agree to or encourage cheap-labour practices and therefore pay a minimum annual salary of USD 40,000 per year, in all locations throughout the world. Actual compensation may vary based upon geographical location, experience, and/or skill level. However, it will never be below our minimum global compensation mentioned.
