About the team:

Robinhood is looking for an experienced leader to structure, build, and lead Robinhood’s Research Program Management team and enable us to scale our operations and insights along with our user base and products. You will work closely with our Head of Research, as well as with managers across our 3 teams (User Experience, Marketing Research, Behavioral Insights) to provide direction on operations strategy, to maintain research visibility, and to accelerate team efficiency. This role reports to the Head of PMO, UX, & Research Programs and will oversee the entire Research Program Management team.

As a qualified candidate, you have a proven track record of building and managing teams that deliver research operations solutions with measurable business value. You will be a trusted, strategic partner to your stakeholders and articulates the vision of the research operations team. You’re excited by problem-solving within the research operations space, including refining or creating processes that allow us to prioritize research requests, collecting and organizing data, and connecting teams with research insights. You are knowledgeable about research tools and vendors that help teams scale. You care deeply about people and are excited about investing in their growth and career development.

What you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Work closely with the Head of Research to identify and prioritize strategic research operations initiatives
  • Build and maintain programs that increase team efficiency, refine and optimize processes and documentation over time, maintain team health, and communicate and demonstrate the value of research to the business; create or procure systems to support these initiatives
  • Lead and represent your team effectively through strong cross-functional relationships (e.g., with compliance, legal, security) to ensure communications compliance and data privacy
  • Find and implement new ways to improve the effectiveness and development of the research team.
  • Manage, mentor, and coach a team of research program managers as they hone their craft; set expectations for quality and impact
  • Drive company-wide initiatives (e.g., OKR setting and scoring) within the research team
  • Have a strong bias for action, keep momentum on key projects, and enable leadership to stay abreast of critical decisions and timelines
  • Drive operational improvements to reduce cost and increase overall impact for programs and research initiatives
  • Establish and manage research processes, reporting, and communications cadences

About you:

  • 6-7 years of work experience in Research Operations, including 3+ years as a people manager
  • Experience laying the foundation for and scaling a Research Operations practice, increasing team efficiency, and guiding a research program management team as they enable end-to-end research processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, as well as keen attention to detail
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment that requires independent time management, task prioritization, and experience identifying problems and working toward solutions
  • Effectiveness in championing, growing, and upskilling your team; demonstrated record of getting reports promoted
  • A high degree of self-awareness
  • Ability to think big and understand complex problems
