About the team + role

In this role, you'll join a team of engineers passionate about ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our network infrastructure through automation, monitoring, and innovative deployments. You'll collaborate with teams across security, corporate engineering, business automation, and external partners to guarantee secure, reliable access to our services and resources.

As Senior Network Engineer, you will apply your expertise in networking and automation to ensure that our infrastructure is robust, scalable, and efficient; while applying automation best practices to reduce toil and improve system reliability and performance.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate across the organization to find opportunities for automation, driving operational efficiency.
  • Design and develop robust automated solutions, using tools such as Ansible, Python, Jinja, Terraform, device APIs, GenAI and Chatbots.
  • Promptly triage and resolve issues with automated systems, minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Develop and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, using automation to streamline the software development lifecycle.

What you bring

  • Have a passion for automation and solving complicated technical problems.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Networking focused automation engineering and a proven track record of delivering successful solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of automation tools and technologies, including, Git Actions, Ansible, Terraform, or the equivalent.
  • Be proficient in scripting/coding languages (Python, Go, Bash, etc) to automate complex tasks.
  • Hands-on experience with a wide range of network hardware including Cisco, Juniper, and Arista devices.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and services such as: BGP, OSPF, MC-LAG, DNS and DHCP
  • Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS) and experience with IPv4 and IPv6
  • Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their associated automation services.
  • Have strong communication and partnership skills.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

Zone 1 (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC) $161,500—$190,000 USD Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL) $141,950—$167,000 USD Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL) $125,800—$148,000 USD
