About the team + role

As a Software Developer at Robinhood, you will be building and owning certain backend services, infrastructure and data that power our core financial products. You will gain a unique look into how the US financial systems work on the inside and strengthen your financial-domain knowledge.

We strive for a high standard of engineering quality while solving unique scalability challenges. You will have a high impact at a relatively small company for our user base.

What you’ll do

• Building, testing, and releasing product-facing features with stringent correctness and scalability requirements
• Dealing with moderate to large ambiguous problems, leading efforts to bring clarity, direction, trade-offs, and eventually executing to build these projects
• Meeting with cross-functional partners like product, design, and content to ensure their requirements for the project are met
• Working with our frontend team to create and fine tune our REST APIs
• Evaluating our backend architecture, best practices, and figuring ways to further improve the stability, scalability as well as developer efficiency of our code
• Collaborating with our data team to support millions of customers

What you bring

• 3+ years of software developer experience
• Passionate about growing your skills as an engineer and increasing scope
• Solid understanding of relational databases and transactions
• Familiarity with writing highly concurrent systems
• Good intuition for REST API design
• Ability to discuss and debate trade-offs between engineering solutions
