Our Custom Reporting Developers receive report request and deadlines from several departments. The ability to own tasks, clearly communicate requirements, delays, completion and prioritize a constantly shifting schedule of deadlines is paramount. This work is highly critical to successfully building our company. It is the lynchpin of the sales and onboarding process. Custom reporting concerns are a blocker for most of our customers, so delivering high-quality, highly accurate reports is absolutely crucial and greatly appreciated by both our customers and our company.

ServiceTitan is looking for a Custom Reporting Developer to join our commercial and construction team. Strong candidates will have a solid command of SQL, ETL operations, strong analytical and critical thinking skills. The most critical portion of the role is taking reporting requirements, ensuring they follow GAAP and delivering reports to meet our customer’s needs. The candidate will work closely with cross-departmental resources to ensure on-time delivery of reports for customers' adoption of ServiceTitan.

What you'll do:

  • Develop : Create and modify custom reports being conscious of GAAP.
  • Improve: Enhance and maintain existing automated custom reports to ensure they’re GAAP compliant.
  • Data Manipulation and Analysis : Use SQL to manipulate data and generate reports that support onboarding customer data and business decisions.
  • Performance Tuning : Help optimize database queries to improve performance and response times.
  • Troubleshooting : Assist in troubleshooting and resolving basic database issues by understanding the business requirements.
  • Documentation : Document reports, changes, and queries as well as prepare reports on utilization.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with senior developers and database administrators to understand and implement complex SQL queries and database schemas.
  • Learning and Development : Continuously learn and apply new SQL techniques and technologies to improve database efficiency and functionality.

What you'll bring:

  • Experience:
    • 1-2 years of experience with MS SQL Server
    • Advanced knowledge and experience in T-SQL and complex ETL tools
    • Advanced knowledge of GAAP
    • Expert level understanding of database and data model concepts
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting or a related field.
  • Technical Skills : Expert level understanding of database and data model concepts. Given the experimental nature of this job, we will require very tight compliance when it comes to data - we need to focus on learning
  • Analytical Skills : Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Problem-Solving : Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Teamwork : Ability to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C#, Python, Apache Spark, Java, or typescript are beneficial.
  • Construction Accounting experience is highly desirable
  • Vertical SaaS experience is highly desirable
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is a plus.

  • This role typically works in a remote setting during regular business hours.

ServiceTitan is committed to fair and equitable compensation for all of our employees. We thoughtfully consider a wide range of factors when determining individual compensation. The expected salary range for this role for candidates residing in the United States is between $86,000 USD - $124,000 USD. Compensation for candidates residing outside the United States will vary by location and the specific salary range will be discussed during the hiring process. Actual compensation for an individual may vary depending on skills, performance over time, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition to the base salary, the total compensation package also includes an annual bonus, equity and a holistic suite of benefits.
