Why is a Manufacturing Supervisor (Medacta Lead) important to us?
As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading one of our manufacturing teams. Your role will involve inspiring, developing and driving the team to achieve daily production targets and also to relentlessly pursue improvement and innovation projects. Your team will be responsible for executing all production-related tasks from start to end, giving you and your team comprehensive knowledge of the entire manufacturing process. Additionally, you will drive lean Six Sigma and QRM initiatives to help transform our current operation into a world-class manufacturing facility capable of producing an ever-increasing range of unique products. To achieve this, you will be the facilitator, enabling your team to maintain a stable production environment, reallocating resources as necessary, and inspiring the team to drive innovation.
In summary, you and your team will be responsible for ensuring that every customer order is manufactured to perfection, while also striving to improve product quality and production efficiency. You will be responsible for updating the controlled documents in the Quality Management System that relate to your team's operations.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, organize, and motivate one of our manufacturing teams to meet business goals and improve (quality, lead times, safety, and costs).
- Set and maintain processes.
- Review and feedback to team members
- Teach, coach, and drive continuous improvement.
- Apply World Class Manufacturing best practices to 100% custom, on-demand manufacturing.
- Help lead the charge for implementing Lean Six Sigma and QRM in a traditionally non-lean environment.
- Liaise and work directly with our supply chain, product, tech, and production teams to help iterate quickly and establish new processes.
- Overview and drive multidisciplinary team projects
- You will report to the Plant Manager.
You might be a good fit if (you have/are):
- A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in an applicable field (e.g., technical or operations management).
- 2+ years of experience leading a team, preferably in a complex series production environment.
- Hands-on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or QRM.
- Experience in a fast-growing start-up – or similarly demanding environment.
- A creative, can-do attitude and a contagious drive.
- Proactive and independent, requiring minimal direction.
- Work meticulously and organized.
- Ability to help a team see opportunities and turn them into successes.
- Are a hands-on problem solver and have an entrepreneurial mindset
- Problem-solving: having ownership, persistence, and being fact-based
