The Sonos DevOps organization is a critical part of our product development team and engineering philosophy. The Sonos DevOps team creates the infrastructure, tools and processes that enable our engineers to build and deliver services at scale across the entirety of the Sonos product & services portfolio. Those solutions are designed with the ideals of collaboration, self-service, automation, open-source and joint success, opening the floodgates of creativity and experimentation as we seek to deliver secure, reliable and delightful experiences to our customers.

Reporting to the VP, Software Quality, you understand the technology and customer landscape and will provide the product team with the right tools & platforms to drive the best product portfolio possible.

What You’ll Do

  • You will understand and support our Company strategy
  • You will lead your team with an intentional focus on continuous people development and coaching
  • You will work collaboratively across Sonos with multiple functions, particularly with our product engineering teams, to understand our proposed product & services roadmap and ensure our capabilities meet our aspirations
  • You will build a team focused on enabling and empowering our product engineering teams by focusing on infrastructure as code, quality engineering, developer tools, and site reliability
  • You will own our long term infrastructure, tools & process strategy, leading a team to transform our platforms & process to meet our company & product strategy
  • You will demonstrate a mix of intelligence, integrity, domain knowledge, verbal agility, and diplomacy to allow you to earn the trust of engineers and product management leaders
  • You will help establish our OKRs, and work with the product team to define KPIs and ensure we meet our targets
  • You will bring external learnings and insights back to Sonos to help inform strategy & product decisions

Skills You’ll Need

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Cloud infrastructure management (IaaS or SaaS) experience (AWS preferred)
  • 5+ years of people management and talent development experience
  • Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Product development experience in a technology company
  • 5+ years experience managing high-traffic, highly-available, customer-facing cloud software infrastructure
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills
  • A proven track record with balancing multiple complex cross-functional projects and processes with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills with a team-oriented and collaborative approach to work and ability to lead multiple technical disciplines
  • Experience with DevOps automation tools or CI/CD
  • Proven experience of managing personnel, managing and controlling budgets
  • Experience with telemetry, system metrics, monitoring, and alerting solutions
