Spendesk is looking for an energetic and aspiring Data Privacy and Commercial Law Intern to join our Legal team for six months from July to December 2025. This role provides the opportunity to support Spendesk on Legal team topics and gain great professional experience in Data Privacy and Commercial Law. As part of the Legal team, you’ll gain exposure across the business and partner with teams across London, Paris, Berlin and Madrid. This is a great opportunity for learning, where you’ll get structured support from more senior ‘mentors’ in the team.
Key responsibilities
- Implementation and monitoring of the GDPR roadmap, raising awareness about data privacy, develop and update the GDPR documentation (records of processing activities, Privacy Impact Assessments, policies and procedures, and any document required by the GDPR and other data privacy laws).
- Participation in the drafting and negotiation of contracts by with Spendesk’s customers and service providers (commercial and privacy topics).
- Support internal stakeholders on diverse legal topics (commercial, privacy, payment services), and answers to customers questionnaires.
- Management and monitoring of various projects in support of the lawyers.
- Legal research and summary writing.
- Management and monitoring of the legal information centre (intranet) (containing e.g.: rules, procedures, FAQs);
- Implementation of one or more digital tools for the legal department.
- For Spendesk, an intern or work-study student is above all an important contributor and a partner. You may be contacted by different departments on different subjects. Your mission, like that of the legal department: to respond to business and compliance needs!
What we're looking for
- The desired intern or work-study student will have a data privacy law profile (French law academic background) who is also keen to develop the commercial aspects of an in-house lawyer and with an appetite for the tech/fintech field and new technologies;
- Fluency in French and English is essential (speaking German, Italian or Spanish would be a plus);
