  • As our Head of Compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring that Spendesk operates in full compliance with with applicable laws and regulations.

Following our series C funding round, we want to accelerate the development of our banking team to:

  • Offer more value to our customers, thanks to additional financial services and well-managed operations
  • Service our customers wherever they are, through the build of our international and multi currency capabilities

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver a strong Compliance program covering Regulatory and Financial Crime Compliance
  • Act as the main point of contact for the local regulators in relation to Compliance and governance issues & for the Compliance teams of our regulated banking partners (US & UK)
  • Assess product, compliance and operational risks and develop risk management strategies and policies in accordance with applicable regulation, including appropriate risk mapping and AML-CTF customer risk classification
  • Stay up to date with relevant trends and typologies in order to utilise this information to revised the risk framework, to create awareness around new issues and typologies and to identify potential risks
  • Prepare, update and disseminate written policies and procedures related to compliance activities and/or a change in relevant legislation or regulatory guidance
  • Ensure the promotion of compliance best practices and create regulatory awareness across the organization
  • Provide oversight over the Internal Control infrastructure and program
  • Formalizing and operating second-level and compliance controls, monitoring and ensuring compliance with any recommendations arising from these controls
  • Carrying out enhanced due diligence and, if necessary, making declarations of suspicious activity under the conditions provided by the regulations / management of the relationship with Tracfin
  • Lead and manage the Compliance team effectively

What we’re looking for

  • 7 years of Banking Compliance experience preferably in a Fintech environment
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of French and European laws and regulations
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills with good leadership skills
  • Proactive, with the ability to generate ideas, think creatively and develop innovative solution balancing regulatory and business constraints
  • Preferably bilingual, fluent in English and French with strong written and verbal skills
  • Strong sense for integrity and ability to handle highly sensitive information with absolute confidentiality
