A bit of context... As part of its Strategic Plan, Spendesk decided to address customer Expansion through two different departments (Commercial and Customer). Each of them owning a different mission: - Customer: Focus on Engagement, Satisfaction and Retention - Commercial: Focus on Upsell / Cross-Sell and Customer Development Initially only focusing on Key Accounts, the Sales Expansion Team is now looking to expand its customer coverage by addressing the whole Spendesk’s portfolio. It has then been decided to split the team across two roles: - Key Account Managers: Focusing on the higher segment of our Customers - Account Managers: Focusing on Small and Medium Customers As an Account Manager you’ll play a pivotal role in driving our business growth by nurturing and expanding relationships with our existing SMB customers. You’ll own a large portfolio of customers with the mission of driving customer base expansion through upsell, cross-sell and contract negotiation. You will actively partner with the customer success team which is in charge of boosting adoption & usage of the product by our customers.
What will be your mission(s)?
- You will own a dedicated portfolio of Customers with the responsibility of developing it through proactive territory plans
- You will hunt for opportunities for upsell and cross-sell by maintaining a high level of touch points through outbound and inbound activities
- You will understand client needs, business objectives, and challenges to effectively position our products/services
- You will be responsible, for those customers, for the entire sales cycle from potential identification to closing : Qualification > Discovery > Technical Validation > Commercial proposal > Signature
- You will understand the customer ecosystem (third party providers, software solutions used) to identify business opportunities
- You will maintain accurate records of client interactions, transactions, and progress using CRM software.
- You will work closely with a dedicated team of Customer Success Managers ensuring the achievement of all key metrics related to customer growth, retention and Spendesk product usage growth
- You will collaborate with Product, Marketing, Customer Success and Strategic Partnerships by providing customer feedback to drive product innovation

- Great Communicator: excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
- Commercial mindset: strong sales instincts, demonstrated assertiveness and a strong track-record of hitting and exceeding quota, as well as proven negotiation and closing skills.
- Organization & portfolio management: strong organizational skills and disciplined in daily activity planning & prioritizing. Ability to manage a high number of opportunities simultaneously at various stages of the buying process.
- Ability to navigate between high velocity deals and value focus deals.
- Customer relationship & business partnership: take an active interest in understanding their customer context and pains to position oneself as a business consultant
- Resiliency and Extra Miles Mindset: The AM department is still under construction; we then expect a company-first mindset and the ability to embrace challenges and navigate through uncertainty
