We’re looking for a solutions engineer to support our Great Expectations Cloud product. As a solutions engineer, you’d be responsible for managing the technical relationships with customers and prospects alongside the go to market team. As the trusted technical advisor to customers, your role is crucial to remove technical objections and address pain points with a customer’s data pipelines.

As the first solutions engineering hire at Superconductive, you’d have the opportunity to shape the way we work with our first customers, and lay the foundation for shaping how we think about technical sales. You will need to develop a deep empathy for the end user and an understanding of the types of problems they may encounter. With this perspective and knowledge to guide you, your work will help create tight feedback loops between our customers and Superconductive’s product team. You’ll also work with our engineering team to prioritize issues and development, and stand up internal tools and documentation to improve customer-facing resources.

What You’ll Do

Pre-Sales Responsibilities:

  • Identify customer business requirements and matching them to product features
  • Collaborate with the GTM team for coordinating the customer issues and best practices guidelines
  • Build joint customer strategies with enterprise sales, support and field services to encourage product adoption
  • Provide live demonstrations of the the Great Expectations Cloud platform to prospective customers
  • Answer Great Expectations product questions and helping customers and prospects to take full advantage of the cloud product
  • Build relationships with key decision makers and serving as a customer’s technical point of contact
  • Educate prospects on product implementation and usage
  • Learn about customers’ successes and challenges, sharing customer feedback within Superconductive’s product and engineering teams and advocating for customer interests

Post-Sales Responsibilities:

  • Act as intermediary between sales and technical teams to best meet customer needs
  • Communicate customer feedback and perspectives to appropriate teams to be considered in product strategy
  • Demonstrate ownership and coordinate with engineering and escalation teams to achieve resolution of customer issues and requests
  • Manage urgent customer outages and requests by being their technical point of contact
  • Documenting technical considerations, collecting existing articles and contributing to internal knowledge bases as a resource for other teams, customers and partners
  • Identifying bugs and improvements in the Superconductive cloud product
  • Build a knowledge base with technical documentation, manuals for the support team and for the customers.

Job requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in sales/solutions engineering, technical consulting, or data engineering operational roles
  • A high level of empathy for our customers, curiosity and tenacity to get to the root cause of issues
  • Significant experience using python for development
  • Strong communication skills working with technical business stakeholders
  • In-depth knowledge of and the ability to perform advanced troubleshooting on our cloud product and its integration with customer-built and/or configured data pipeline systems.
  • Experience using cloud-based services and comfort assessing and communicating the effects of upstream/vendor service outages
  • Direct experience with data work in python, pandas, SQL, Spark, etc
  • Experience with software development tools including git, project management software, CI toolchains, containers, and cloud service providers

Stand Out Attributes

  • Work experience as a software engineer, especially with data-centric systems, API development, and/or distributed architectures
  • Experience with data engineering teams and tools, including common cloud-based data warehouses and/or ETL tools
  • People management skills
