In less than a year, Sylvera has built partnerships with the world-leading carbon exchanges, first-class academic institutions, secured investment from Europe’s top VC fund, and built an extraordinary team.

Sylvera is bringing transparency to the opaque voluntary carbon markets by using satellite data and machine learning algorithms to accurately assess the impact of carbon offset projects. This transparency will catalyse exponential growth in a market which is critical to addressing climate change.

What will I be doing?

Having found early product-market fit in a nascent, rapidly growing space, we’re now scaling our Marketing team at pace. We’re looking for a mission-driven, PR Director to join our Marketing function, with the focus of building Sylvera’s brand awareness and credibility.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Craft and execute our earned media & communications strategy - aligning with our Policy, exec and founding teams
  • Turn our spokespeople into thought leaders by supporting them with media training, press briefings, speaking opportunities and social media best practice
  • Collaborate with our Product Marketing, Product and Data Science teams to build compelling media stories around our product usage, platform trends and technological innovations
  • Work closely with our Policy team, leveraging their expertise to bolster our credibility and reputation
  • Own media relations: from pitching stories, to identifying newsjacking opportunities and jumping on rapid-response opportunities
  • Measure share of voice, media coverage, and message pull-through to track ROI on earned media activities

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has at least 7 years experience working in-house as a PR/Comms lead or agency-side
  • Is creative and analytical in equal measure. You care about how stories/campaigns perform
  • Has managed agencies or direct reports to amplify their capabilities, but can be effective as an individual contributor as well
  • Has experience with executive stakeholder and spokesperson management
  • Cares deeply about the climate and ecosystems of the earth
  • Is a self-starter who thrives in constantly evolving environments, ideally with early-stage start-up experience
